Reporting / Data Portfolio

Transforming raw data into reporting that is accurate, usable, and trusted across Payroll, HRIS, Benefits, and Human Resources.

Strong reporting turns complex data into clear decisions.
It gives leaders insight, direction, and clarity to act.

I am a reporting and data-focused Payroll and HRIS professional with more than ten years of experience building reports, reconciliations, audit tools, and decision-support outputs across Payroll, HRIS, Benefits, and Human Resources. My work is centered on transforming raw data into reporting that is accurate, usable, and trusted.

I am strongest in environments where data is complex, systems overlap, and precision matters. Whether writing SQL, structuring Access databases, validating conversion outputs, or building reports that help leaders see what is really happening, I approach reporting as both a technical discipline and a practical business tool.

Highlighted Reporting Experience

SQL & Data Extraction

Used SQL to extract detailed payroll and HR data, validate totals, reconcile outputs, and support conversion, reporting, and audit work.

Access Database Design

Built Access databases and cross-reference tools that automated data structuring, reporting, and calculation logic for complex payroll and HR needs.

Executive & Operational Reporting

Created both high-level leadership reporting and detailed operational reporting that supported action, reconciliation, and process improvement.

Validation & Reconciliation

Strong reporting mindset centered on data integrity, balancing totals, identifying anomalies, and ensuring outputs can be trusted before decisions are made from them.

Case Study: Building Historical Payroll Data for Workday Conversion at USIC

At USIC, I was entrusted with supporting one of the company’s most important system projects: the migration from ADP to Workday. A major part of that effort was rebuilding each employee’s year-to-date payroll history so it could be imported accurately into Workday. The scope was significant, covering nearly 20,000 employees and requiring complete accumulator values for earnings, taxes, deductions, and benefits.

Because of my payroll, HRIS, and SQL background, I built a practical solution for the conversion data. Using SQL extracts from ADP’s raw payroll data, I developed a process to aggregate each employee’s year-to-date values, including gross pay, taxable wages, tax withholdings, Social Security, unemployment, 401(k), and employer contributions, and then convert that information into Workday’s required import structure.

ADP did not allow reporting on certain employer-paid fields, so I built cross-reference tables in Microsoft Access to calculate employer contributions and state-specific limits automatically. The database I designed generated accurate Workday import files, and every total matched ADP’s quarterly static reports to the penny.

The consultant supporting the implementation later confirmed that many companies pay outside teams significant fees to produce this level of conversion data. My internally built solution delivered that same level of accuracy while supporting a smooth Workday go-live and helping restore confidence in payroll after earlier system challenges.

Impact: Accurate Workday conversion data for nearly 20,000 employees, stronger payroll confidence, and a successful internal solution to a high-value system challenge

What I Want Employers to Know

Strong reporting is about more than technical skill. It requires judgment, knowing what to measure, how to structure the output, how to validate it, and how to present it in a way that helps someone take meaningful action.

I bring a combination of systems knowledge, reporting discipline, and operational understanding that allows me to build reporting tools people can actually use. My goal is always the same: clarity, accuracy, and information that leads to better decisions.
